Piston compressor
Piston technology compressors are the most common type of compressor. Its operating principle is conversion of rotary motion to linear (reciprocating) motion of a piston moving within a cylinder. The downward stroke of the piston is when intake takes place, and its upward stroke is when compression takes place. What moves the piston is a motor, which may be either electric or fuel-powered. Piston compressors exist in many different types, sizes and applications. For example, a piston compressor may be oil-lubed or oil-free; it can have a single compression stage, suitable for work at standard pressure of up to 13 bar; or, two or even three stages, suitable for working pressure of 50 bar or more. A piston compressor can function on its own or as a booster, receiving air from another compressor at a certain pressure and boosting it.
EL-AV Compressors offers its customers piston compressors of the highest levels of workmanship and quality on the market. In addition, the company offers a wide range of compressor types for a variety of industries, from standard piston compressors to oil-less compressors and compressors tailor-made to customers’ needs. This is already the third decade in which EL-AV is proud to design and manufacture piston compressors for various applications and adaption to customers’ needs; including gasoline and diesel-powered piston compressors, or powered by electric motors of high energy rating, oil-less compressors, boosters, and more. Manufacturing is performed under strict supervision, with emphasis on the highest level of quality in the manufacturing process itself, to achieve results no less than excellent.
